Character Information

General
Canon Source: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Canon Format: Book series
Character's Name: Perseus “Percy” Jackson
Character's Age: 16.
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. N/A

What form will your character's NV take? Percy is very unlucky when it comes to all manner of electronic devices, so his NV is remarkably like a Dictaphone, except it also has the ability to record short periods of video. It has buttons to switch it on and off, record, and playback. It can fit into his pocket, simply as he'd likely lose it if he couldn't keep it there.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: As a demigod, Percy has a few inherent 'disabilities' that are seen as talents. He has been diagnosed with ADHD, which allows him supernatural alertness, and keen senses that can keep him ready – and alive – in battle. He is also dyslexic, as his brain is hard-wired for Ancient Greek. Due to his limited clairvoyance, Percy is able to watch events in distant locations and times, including otherwise 'hidden' things because of his father's unpredictable nature. This clairvoyance occasionally allows him to take the 'place' of a different person in the visions – a notable example being Hercules. Percy is an expert swordsman, fully capable of holding his own against larger, more experienced, and more powerful opponents, including Gods and Titans.
These fighting skills are helped along by his bearing the Curse of Achilles; the third person in history to do so. He gained the 'burden' after bathing in the River Styx. This granted him with invulnerability, which means that nothing touching his skin can harm or kill him. Things that are ingested are another matter. This burden also gave him supernaturally superior speed and strength as well. As the name would make one assume, Percy does have an 'Achilles heel' a part of his body which remains mortal. This 'heel' is a spot on the small of his back, directly opposite his navel. It can also be said that Annabeth is also his Achilles Heel, as it was an image of her that came to him when bathing in the Styx, and she is what is directly typing him to the mortal world.
As he is a son of Poseidon – one of the Big Three – Percy is more powerful than the children of lesser gods, having a degree of command over his father's domains and subjects. Through his father's authority, or his own inherent power, Percy's powers include:

- Supernatural powers: when in contact with or in the presences of water, Percy gains a disproportionate amount of supernatural clarity, strength, speed, healing and stamina equal to that of a god, though it is notable that in this state he has shown to be more powerful than Ares. However, this only lasts for a small amount of time, unless he is completely submerged in water.

- Hydrokinesis: Since Percy has the power of the sea within him, he can control every form and great volumes of water, even being able to summon and heal his wounds with it. Simply put, Percy can control water. This can take the form of;
1. Healing most wounds and cure most poisons when in contact with water
2. Being able to propel himself through water by controlling the water around him.
3. Percy can shoot water from not only being in water, but also in a blast for of the water he can create.
4. He can create water from petrified seashells, as well as being able to create it with his own will, and summon the “force of the ocean” to his will.
5. Can harden water into an almost solid shape. This allows him to walk on water and make water shields
6. He can diffuse oxygen bubbles in the water to create 'air-bubbles' that allow non-hydrokinetic people to breathe underwater.
7. As well as being able to breathe underwater, Percy can fall from great heights into water and remain unaffected by the change in pressure. He also cannot get water when submerged, unless he wants to.

Sailing Skills: He possesses an intimate awareness of any ship is is one, being able to telekinetically operate one – as well as anything related to the ocean – as he has perfect bearings on the ocean. As such, he can easily navigate his way at sea.

Animal Communication: Percy can talk – both normally and telepathically – to equines and sea creatures, both of which mainly treat him with deference and lordly respect.

Aerokinesis: Percy can summon hurricanes and other types of storm, but the extent to which he can control them is unknown. Unlike his control of water, this can exhaust Percy much faster.

Geokinesis: Percy can generate earthquakes and, consequently, case eruptions. His control of this technique is less than that of a child of Hades, and will tend to have him fall unconscious for an extended period of time.

Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A
Weapons: Percy carries around a pen which, when uncapped, becomes the sword Anaklusmos – Riptide. It is forged of celestial bronze, which is effective on Gods, demigods and monsters. If turned on a mortal, the sword will pass through them as if non-existent. It can be used against another weapon however. As with many things, the Mist can effect how Riptide is seen by mortal – it once appeared as a rifle to mortal eyes.
Riptide is 3 feet long and weighs about 5 pounds. It is perfectly balanced for Percy, and he can wield it very well. It is fortunate that is it almost impossible to loose, as Percy does have a habit of misplacing things such as pens – its dormant form. Riptide is enchanted appear back in Percy's pocket in its dormant form is ever lost. The sword itself is very strong, able to deflect multiple blasts from Zeus's lightning bolt, which is the most powerful weapon ever created. In comparison, the Roman counterpart Ivlivs was destroyed almost easily by Enecladus' spear.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Please see here for character history
Point in Canon: I would like to bring Percy in from pre-The Lost Hero, at a point mention in the story – from just after he has walked his girlfriend back to her cabin, but before he was taken by Hera and had his memories erased.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history. Percy has been previously (and currently) played at fandom_smash, a pan-fandom game.

Character Personality: Percy is very brave, and a natural leader, willing to risk his life to save his friends, strangers, and sometimes even his enemies. If there is a choice between his being safe, and having to face danger to save his friends, without a single doubt Percy would chose the danger. He has an extremely sarcastic and smart sense of humour, combined with a laid back demeanour, and has managed to earn the respect of many of the Olympians – though it is safe to say that he and Ares will never be best friends. Percy will always be true, and never goes back on his word if he can help it. Despite all of this, he is far from perfect.
Percy is somewhat short-tempered, and can have trouble controlling his anger sometimes – like when he sees bullying. He will feel a need to stand up for the little guy, leading to him often being seen as unpopular in school as he will try to be friends with the one that is the most popular target; becoming a target himself. He also tends to blurt things out, and act without thinking, no matter of the consequences may be, which often lands him in trouble. Technically speaking, Percy is smart, but he seems to act dumb and obtuse, meaning that he often doesn't see the obvious even when it is right in front of him. This also shows itself in the fact that he seems to be more affected by the Mist than other demigods 'in the know'. As mentioned, he is sarcastic and can be moody. He dislikes being retrained or forced to obey, and has happily described himself as “impertinent”. He does not like being controlled or constrained in any way, a aspect of his personality that Poseidon claims comes from him – the sea does not like this either.
Though he is considered a leader at the Greek Camp Half Blood, at school Percy is considered a troublemaker, having a long track record of expulsions, something which most demigods share. His ADHD and dyslexia make learning difficult for him, and he often mentions that he is ever considered one of the “cool kids” at school. As mentioned, he also tends to make friends with kids who are otherwise picked on – his best friend Grover and his half-brother Tyson being the best examples – thus Percy is often seen as very uncool amongst his mortal peers. This is a stark contrast to his time at Camp, where he is often amongst one of the most liked of the Campers.
As often mentioned within the series, all people have a 'fatal flaw', something that could possibly end up leading to their downfall should it go unchecked. In the case of Percy, his fatal flaw is his own excessive personal loyalty. As pointed out by Athena, he would risk the world, not to mention his own life, to save a loved one. (Athena was displeased that her daughter was an object of this loyalty). Percy does not see personal loyalty as a bad thing – despite clear cases of it having being used against him previously by Kronos. As Athena stated “the most dangerous flaws are good in moderation.”

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: While I do have Percy at another game, I do not wish to bring him in from the game, and so there will no need for personality development
Character Plans: In Siren's Pull I would like to be able to get Percy involved with plot-based things. While I do thing he'll handle the slice of stuff as well, he's very much the type who works on the “I'll make up as I go along as long as I don't die in the process”, so he seems to work well in plot-based stuff. He will likely try to find a way out of the City at first, but will join in with the fight when he realises he can't.

Appearance/PB: Percy is a Caucasian boy with jet black hair and green eyes. While Percy is a book character, there was also a movie made. As such, I will use the movie actor – Logan Lerman – as his PB.

Writing Samples

First Person Sample  [There is brief cracking noise being picked up by the microphone, as though the person holding the device is moving around. The image on the screen flickers as it's moved around quickly, zooming in to highlight a building in the distance]
So, where am I? [The voice is picked up clearly by the microphone, a young voice, as the image of the screen shifts again, focusing on sea-green eyes frowning into the viewfinder] Is this … Ares is this some kind ... no, Ares wouldn't [The boy is muttering, only half of which get picked up. There is confusion in his eyes, and something that could pass as worry]
[The camera shifts again, this time taking in great images of the ground, as the person holding it moves forward] Got to find out where I am. Got to find out how I got here. Got to … what is this thing anyway [The camera is swung upwards suddenly, as the green-eyes come into view once more. A calloused finger comes up and prods at it] Who would want... [There's a pause, as the camera drops out of eye-view, catching the image of the boy shaking his head] Not the right question right now. [The camera rises again. The boy looks into it, confusion and determination clear on his face]
Okay, I'm Percy Jackson, and if you expect me to know anything about this, you're bang out of luck. [There is the noise of a button being pressed, and the image cuts out]

Third Person Sample
Percy Jackson was dreaming. At least, he thought he was dreaming, well, maybe hoped would be a better word to put there. He was alone, and that was slightly odd at the moment. Right, think, or at least try to. He had been on he way back from the Athena cabin, it was getting near the time that the harpies would start to make their rounds and he really didn't want to be caught up in that.
He remembered having half-walked, half-jogged back towards his own cabin, shivering slightly as a cold wind seemed to gather up around him. That was when he started to feel
Like I was being pulled.”
Oops. That came out a lo louder than he thought. Actually, he didn't think he had said any of it out loud at all. Okay, so probably not dreaming then. But that feeling of being puled, it preyed on his mind. It was like something had hooked on to him and just wouldn't let go. It was down in his stomach, somewhere near his gut. A hook just latching on to him, and pulling. Like a fish trying to escape a fishing line. Okay, so not thinking about that. Scarily appropriate metaphor that could become real.
So, being pulled and then... then there was falling. Falling from a great height, with that feeling of your stomach being up somewhere around your throat, your heart thumping so loudly it feels like it's going to burst your head, and all you can hear is a rushing in your ears of wind. Basically, like the best roller-coaster ever. Kind of like the one that he had went on
No, stop, focus. He knew it was hard, but he had to try. Okay, around him he could feel dirt. He was lying in dirt. No pain, but that was to be expected, even if it did still seem odd to him. He pushed himself upright on to his knees, rubbing at the palm of his hands ineffectively. There was a heavy feel n the pocket of his jeans, different to the usual weight of his pen.
What is that?”
He had pulled out the offending object, getting to his feet. It looked like one of those Dictaphone things he had seen his step-father use occasionally. A long rectangular box, there was a speaker and what looked like a little screen. Percy frowned at the thing, before shoving it back into his pocket, looking round. He paused, before pulling out the device again, and prodding at it. There was a zoom in feature on the video, it could see further than he could. He stepped forward, using his free hand to push at his shoulder. He felt like there should be pain there.
So, where am I?”
